Mrs. Cook
Hello terrific second graders and parents!!!
My name is Mrs. Cook, and I am so pleased and excited that you will be joining me in my class this year. Before I get to know you, I thought that you might want to know a little about me. I was born and raised in southeastern Michigan, in a town on the Detroit River called Wyandotte. My parents still live there, but I try to get them to move to Charlotte every year. I go up there every summer and just spend a couple weeks trying to see all of my favorite things about the mitten. :-)
I’ve lived in and around the Charlotte area for eleven years. I moved to Charlotte during my early college years and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UNCC. I went back after I graduated for a teaching certificate in 2010. (I missed the classroom so much!) In 2016, I earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching. This will be my eighth year teaching at Polo Ridge.
When I’m not working in the classroom, I’m usually hanging out with my family. My husband Matt, was born and raised here in the Charlotte area (rare, I know). He sells flooring by day, and is a volunteer fire fighter for Matthews Fire and EMS by night. We have a super amazing and completely nutty son. His name is David and he is a Kindergarten Polo Ridge Pony this year.. In March, we welcomed our newest addition to the Cook family. Carson is interested in everything, especially his older brother. I can’t wait to start sharing stories about him as he grows and discovers new things.
I believe that communication is key to any successful relationship. Please email me with any questions you may have. My email address is [email protected].
